#AmazingAccrington are working in partnership with local businesses to host a Jobs and Apprenticeship Fair on Friday 28th June at Accrington Town Hall from 11 am – 4 pm, after a hugely successful event last year.

It has been announced that the event will be sponsored by Accrington and Rossendale College, Coach House, Studio Retail Ltd. and Hyndburn Leisure Trust. With four big-name sponsors secured, plus plans to expand from inside Accrington Town Hall to include stalls on the Town Square, the event is set to be bigger and better than ever before.

Lindsay Hurst, Marketing Director for both Accrington and Rossendale College and Nelson and Colne College said:

“Last year there were over 50 employers at the fair and we hope this year will be even bigger. The opportunity to expand outside of the Town Hall means we have lots more availability for stalls. The fair is not just for school or college leavers, its open to those who may want to change career, re-train or for those currently out of work. Last year there were a huge number of opportunities, from apprenticeships to retail or military careers!”

Sharon Benson, HR Director at Studio Retail Ltd., commented:

“Studio is one of the largest employers in the borough and because of continual growth and expansion we are always on the lookout for new talent. We chose to support this jobs fair as we want to recruit locally to give back to the community around us. We offer a lot of opportunities for a wide range of careers and we’re looking forward to meeting with potential new colleagues on the day!”

Lyndsey Sims, CEO Hyndburn Leisure Trust, commented:

“Now in its sixth year, Accrington Town Hall are proud to host this hugely successful event.  It is open to anyone of any age – from school leavers to retirees – who are looking for employment, thinking about doing an apprenticeship, or looking for career advice. Attendees will be given the opportunity to find out more about jobs and apprenticeships directly from employers and training providers.”

Councillor Miles Parkinson, Leader of Hyndburn Borough Council, said:

“We are looking for employers, recruiters and organisations to join us in giving young people as many opportunities as possible and to open doors to those currently not in employment or education. The event also gives organisations the chance to showcase what they can offer. I urge any businesses who are interested in attending to get in touch ASAP as last year the stalls sold out.”

There is still some space for businesses to take part!
