The excitement following East 17’s headline performance at the #AmazingAccrington Christmas Lights Switch On has continued with a special competition.
To keep the festive spirit alive, event organisers Scott Dawson Advertising launched a social media competition, offering the chance to win one of three framed, signed East 17 photographs.
Entrants were invited to nominate someone they felt deserved the prize and the community responded in style, with over 100 recommendations submitted.
Three lucky winners have now been announced: Michelle Sommerville from Accrington, Dionne Ward from Burnley, and Deanne Bell from Accrington. All three winners attended the #AmazingAccrington Christmas Lights Switch On and were overwhelmed to have their prizes hand delivered to their homes.
Winner Deanne Bell said: “You have made my day. I am so happy thank you and I really enjoyed the night!”
East 17 performed a headline set including their Christmas number one hit ‘Stay Another Day’ in front of thousands of spectators in Accrington on Thursday 27th November.
That followed a fantastic evening of entertainment, activities and attractions in the town centre including dancers, singers, a free Santa’s Grotto, meet and greets, food stalls, craft stalls and much more.
Murray Dawson, Chair of #AmazingAccrington Business Leaders and Managing Director of Scott Dawson Advertising, said: “It was fantastic to welcome East 17 to Accrington. People turned out in their thousands, creating an atmosphere that was truly electric – an incredible spectacle not just for the town, but for all of East Lancashire.
“I am extremely proud of the Scott Dawson Advertising team for running a turnkey operation, with a £1million stage, marketing including maildrops, social media and video, booking of the acts and on-the-day logistics – the team pulled up trees to deliver a magnificent event. None of us have seen Accrington so busy and the positiveness throughout the night was wonderful.”
The #AmazingAccrington Christmas Lights Switch On was proudly sponsored by Hyndburn Borough Council, helping deliver another unforgettable festive celebration for the community.
