Footballers from Accrington Stanley paid a special visit to long-standing stand sponsors Farleys Solicitors on Thursday, enjoying an exclusive tour of the firm’s flagship office at Shuttleworth Mead Business Park.
Anjola Popoola, Josh Smith, Alex Henderson and Conor Grant were welcomed by Reta Rose, Partner at Farleys and Head of Operations, who guided the players around the impressive new facility and introduced them to members of the Farleys team.
During the visit, the players spent time meeting staff from across the business, including Joint Managing Partner Ian Liddle and Partner Tom O’Neill – a familiar face at the Wham Stadium, where he also serves on the board at Accrington Stanley.
The visit offered a fantastic opportunity to further strengthen the close relationship between the club and one of its most valued commercial partners. Farleys Solicitors have proudly sponsored the Clayton End at the Wham Stadium since July 2019 and are now in their seventh season of backing Accrington Stanley, underlining their ongoing commitment to supporting the club both on and off the pitch.
In keeping with the spirit of the day, the players and hosts enjoyed a light-hearted kick about, with Ian joining in as they challenged each other to see who could complete the most kick-ups. The friendly competition reflected the strong bond between the two organisations and the shared passion for the club.
As part of the visit, the players chatted with Reta and Ian to learn more about the history and growth of Farleys Solicitors, with the conversation filmed by the Accrington Stanley media team for a special social media feature. Check out the video here: www.facebook.com/share/v/1BfgJn1Vfr/
Adding to the excitement, Reta set the players a challenge to guess how many goals Accrington Stanley have scored in the Farleys Solicitors Clayton End since the sponsorship began seven years ago. Fans have also had the chance to join in with the fun on social media, with a competition inviting supporters to submit their own guesses, and the closest answer wins a signed football.
Accrington Stanley Commercial Manager Jodie Hargreaves said: “It’s always fantastic to take our players out to visit our club sponsors. It gives them the opportunity to learn more about what our partners do and to meet the people behind the businesses who support us so passionately.
“Farleys have been incredible supporters of the club for a number of years now, and visits like this help to strengthen those relationships even further.”
Reta Rose, Partner and Head of Operations at Farleys Solicitors, said: “It was such a pleasure to welcome the players to our flagship office. We really enjoyed showing them around and chatting with them about both the club and our work at Farleys. We’re incredibly proud to support Accrington Stanley and it was great to spend time together in a relaxed and fun environment.”
