Young carers across East Lancashire are set to enjoy a brighter Easter thanks to a generous donation of Easter eggs from Proctor Process Plant Ltd to Carers Link Lancashire.
The donation, made at the charity’s base in Accrington, will see Easter eggs distributed to young carers registered with the service, children and young people who dedicate their time to supporting parents, siblings and other loved ones at home.
Young carers take on a wide range of responsibilities well beyond their years. Their daily tasks can include shopping, preparing meals, looking after siblings, washing, administering medication, offering emotional support, and simply being there for their family members.
The donation of the Easter eggs, which was facilitated by Scott Dawson Advertising, is a meaningful way to recognise the vital contribution of young carers and bring them some seasonal joy.
Based on Blackburn Road in Accrington, the charity also operates a welcoming community facility featuring a charity shop, information and support hub, community café and garden. These spaces are open not only to carers and those they care for, but also to the wider Hyndburn community, helping to foster connection and support for all.
Proctor Process Plant Ltd, a respected family-owned business known worldwide for its industrial combustion equipment solutions, has demonstrated its continued commitment to supporting local communities through this thoughtful gesture.
Carole Moulton, Young Carers Development Worker, said: “I want to say a big thank you to Proctor Process Plant Ltd for donating all these Easter eggs for our young carers.
“Young carers help to look after a family member, and sometimes they get forgotten about. Here today with these Easter eggs, this will make a big difference to them. Thank you so much.”
