Thousands of people flocked to the Wham Stadium on Sunday evening for the eighth annual Accrington Stanley Funfair & Fireworks event, proudly sponsored by Hyndburn Borough Council.
Families enjoyed an evening packed with fun, laughter and community spirit, as the John Collins Funfair once again brought its magic to Stanley. >From the thrilling Miami ride and classic bumper cars to family favourites like hook-a-duck, darts and archery, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Visitors also tucked into delicious treats from the food stalls, serving up everything from juicy burgers and hot dogs to sweet snacks and refreshments.
Adding to the excitement, fans were able to watch Accrington Stanley’s Emirates FA Cup tie against Gainsborough Trinity live in Coley’s Bar, before gathering in the stands for the spectacular fireworks display which lit up the night sky.
Accrington Stanley CEO Warren Eastham said: “It was a fantastic night for everyone involved, such a great turnout and an incredible atmosphere throughout the evening. The Funfair & Fireworks event is always a highlight of our year, and it’s brilliant to see so many families and fans having so much fun together at the Wham Stadium.”
Cllr Kimberley Whitehead, Deputy Leader of Hyndburn Borough Council, said: “It was wonderful to see our community come together for such a fantastic night. The fireworks were absolutely stunning, and Stanley’s FA Cup win made it all the more special. Events like this really show the pride and spirit we have here in Hyndburn.”
