Accrington Stanley Football Club have announced that the Accrington Stanley Community Trust (ASCT) will take centre stage as the club’s front of shirt sponsor for their Good Friday fixture against Crewe Alexandra at the Wham Stadium.
In a one-off initiative, ASCT will replace the club’s usual ‘Wham’ sponsorship for the match, with the opportunity generously provided by club owner Andy Holt and What More UK.
The match-worn shirts will subsequently be auctioned, with all proceeds going directly towards supporting the Community Trust’s vital work across the local community.
The initiative aims to shine a spotlight on the wide-ranging impact of the Community Trust, which delivers programmes focused on sport, health, education and social inclusion. Each year, ASCT engages with more than 20,000 participants across Hyndburn, using the power and reach of Accrington Stanley Football Club to create meaningful opportunities and improve lives.
Owner of Accrington Stanley and What More UK, Andy Holt, said: “The Community Trust is at the heart of everything we stand for as a club. Giving up the front-of-shirt sponsorship for this game is a small way of recognising the incredible work they do day in, day out.
“I’d encourage supporters and the wider community to take a closer look at ASCT and, if they can, get behind them.”
Accrington Stanley CEO, Warren Eastham, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to highlight the incredible work carried out by the Community Trust. The impact they have across Hyndburn is truly inspiring, and we are proud to support them by giving them this platform on such an important matchday. We hope it helps raise awareness and generates valuable funds to continue their outstanding work in the community.”
Accrington Stanley Community Trust CEO, Martin Fearon, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Andy Holt and What More UK for this fantastic gesture. Opportunities like this allow us to showcase the work we do on behalf of the Football Club and reach people who may not yet know how we can support them.
“Having ASCT on the front of the shirts is not just about visibility, it’s about highlighting the real stories and real impact behind the badge. Every programme we deliver is designed to make a difference, and this kind of support helps us continue to grow and sustain that work.”
