Maundy Relief has launched a special Easter food bank collection campaign to help support individuals and families in need across the local community.

The two-week campaign will run from Saturday, 28th March to Saturday, 11th April, with members of the public encouraged to donate whatever they can during this period.

All donated items will go towards creating essential food parcels for those facing hardship, as well as supporting Maundy Relief’s daily community lunches, which provide meals for around 40 people each day. The campaign comes at a crucial time, as demand for support continues to grow.

Among the most urgently needed items are UHT milk, coffee, biscuits, tinned meat and fish, soups, tinned beans and vegetables, pasta, rice and pasta sauces. Banners are being displayed in the local area to help raise awareness and encourage donations.

Donations can be dropped off at Maundy Relief on Abbey Street in Accrington. The centre is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm, and Saturdays from 11 am to 1 pm. It is closed on Sundays.

Teresa Fitzjohn, Drop-In Manager at Maundy Relief, said: “We really appreciate anything you can donate; it will make such a huge impact on so many people.”

Maundy Relief is widely recognised across Hyndburn as a frontline response charity, offering immediate support to individuals and families in crisis. Its services extend beyond food provision, supporting physical, mental and emotional well-being to ensure help is available for those who need it most.
