Residents who sometimes struggle to keep their home warm, or pay heating bills, may be able to get help with energy saving home improvements, such as a new boiler or insulation, to reduce heating bills and help keep homes warm and cosy all year.

Hyndburn Council has received funding from Lancashire Council Council’s Green Energy Fund to help people who need it most. Residents may be able to get help if they’re on a low income, or receiving certain benefits, with things like repairs and servicing of their boilers and gas fires; new radiators and repairs to existing radiators and insulation and draught proofing.

Cllr Clare Cleary, Cabinet Member for Housing and Regeneration, said; “this additional money for Hyndburn is welcome and will help make life safer and more comfortable this winter for some of our most vulnerable households.   So if you are in receipt of means tested income benefits and have poor health, which is made worse by your house conditions, please get in touch with Hyndburn Homewise, who are administering the scheme, to see what help maybe available to help keep your home warm”.
